Students learned about the food, music, and traditions of Rosh Hashanah.

The 6th and 7th graders had a special zoom class from Israel all about Shofar. Broadcast live from the Biblical Museum of Natural History, the students got a chance to learn what makes a shofar kosher to use and what disqualifies it. They were shown a whole variety of Shofrot (some kosher to use, many not) and the animals they come from.

The 5th grade learned about the symbolic foods of Rosh Hashanah and had a Zoom class about bees and the honey-making process, with Boaz, a bee farmer in Northern Israel. The students not only enjoyed this unique experience, they more importantly walked away with a greater appreciation of Hashem’s beautiful world.

Students explored their creativity through art with holiday-themed projects and sang Rosh Hashanah songs in music class.
